The House of Buneau exists to tell the stories of the unheard with honesty and clarity. We stand on precisely crafted lyrics and place words above all other song elements. Our hope is to bring music that, at once, moves the body and stirs the soul.
The journey began while walking on the treadmill at the gym. I couldn’t find any music that would hold my stride and transport me into another dimension, helping me forget the haunting 45-minute run. So, I began creating my own — music that moves the body while freeing the mind. Our focus is on silenced segments of society, whose experiences are too often apologized for, displaying their lives with candor and insight.
In our house, words are the chief matter of lasting songs. Words are cycled, lyrics: refined, until delivery carves truth from mystery. Lyrics opening and closing the dam of emotion leaves listeners both haunted and satisfied. House of Buneau aims for the heart, drawing from lyrical precision and releasing with eloquence.
I titled this genre Velvet Realism: Velvet for its elegant touch; Realism for its diamond-cut clarity. Velvet Realism embroiders Dark Disco, Cinematic Soul, and Theatrical Art-Pop into a singular fabric tailored for both body and spirit. Its dimension can inhabit any musical style. A Velvet Realised lyric holds weight across genres — always graceful, never hollow.
Our songs have been added to playlists such as TPA×Distro Kid’s: Fresh Finds, New Music Friday, and Rising Stars.
